This Shaker truth graces our studio's door and directs our
motivation. Color has captured our imagination, which in turn, kindles
our senses and drives our creativity. Color combined with texture -
fabulous natural hand-dyed wool/mohair- our high standards of craftsmanship
and original designs compose our beautiful art- rugs/tapestries, throws and
pillows. Since 1980, we at Allrose Farm, have been creating unique,
luxurious home furnishings of heirloom quality.
The artists responsible for Allrose Farm's beautiful products are Uli Koch and Aasta Torsen. They share
an intense fascination with textiles, quality workmanship, and
the desire to experiment with color and texture. The pair relocated
from Germany to rural New Hampshire 12 years ago. Their client
base is international. They show at select galleries and top fine
craft shows.
Aasta has been designing textiles since childhood and holds a masters degree
in textile art/art history. She also completed a 2 year weaving
apprenticeship with Swedish master weaver, Signe Michelson. For years
she taught middle school art and college level art and interior design
classes and has led many textile related workshops. Uli studied economics at
the University of Stuttgart, Germany and subsequently apprenticed with
several artists in various media before dedicating himself to textiles.
Each of our art-rugs and/or tapestries is a one-of-a-kind. Commisssions
are always welcomed and we will redesign any of our creations to suit our
clients needs. Please contact us for time-line and cost!
